Past Programs

POF has organized the following programs in the past.


* POF funded orthopaedic clinic visits for children who did not have health insurance or adequate financial resources.


* POF supported pediatric orthopaedic research ay Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital by providing funds for patient visits and project expenses.

 


 

Current Initiatives

Currently the Foundation is Managing the following initiatives.

* Karakambadi pediatric HMO: POF partnered with Amara Foundation and Amara Hospital in India to provide comprehensive medical services to children in Karakambadi village. The program provided for 80% subsidy on all services to every child and even paid for membership fees and the 20% copayment for the children who needed such help.

* Pediatric orthopaedic health camps are being conducted in several villages in India free of cost. These camps provided evaluation of musculoskeletal problems in children, outpatient care, and referral to inpatient care when required.

* POF supports free clinics on Saturdays and care at Amara hospital to pediatric orthopaedic patients who need such help.

* American expertise outside America (AEOA)

POF supported education and medical services in South India with regular physical visits and online collaboration. Starting with pediatric orthopaedics with a US surgeon visiting every other month, the collaboration added Cardiology and Covid care. This program will expand rapidly to include more providers and specialties once travel restrictions are relaxed.
 

* POF partnered with PWH and sent a 40 ft container with medical supplies that are being distributed to medical facilities in South India.
